1979. (Tasted from magnum).
Brick red,tawny rim,classic hickory wood smoke,initial waft of VA.This completely dissapated over a few hours,evolved into all charm,with walnut and varnished floorboards,savoury,gently sweet,lovely fruit blossomed in the glass and VA almost totally disappeared.extended + length.Lovely,lovely,lovely.Next evening had not deteriorated.This will age gracefully for 10+years.The best ever Musar vintage. (95 Points) Tasted 18/11/2010.
1981.
Smell. Earth,cranberries,potporri,leather,cigar box,red fruits.
Taste. Raspberries,cherries,tobacco,leather,struck matches and hints of match sticks,portabello mushrooms.
Overall.Classic and hard to put into words.It's something that has to be experienced to understand-simply words do not seem to do a wine like this justice.The scents and flavors in this wine seem to transition just before acknowledgment and it lingers on the palate effortlessly in an almost weightless presence. (98 Points). Tasted 5/12/2010.
