Description

Three bottles of Chateau Musar's junior red wine. It's still a pretty serious bottle though - made from vines over 50 years old.

Here are the latest few reviews on Cellartracker:

1/24/2014 - FRABJOUS WROTE:
Bought this to drink young-ish and to slake my thirst for Musar so that I keep my mitts off of the ’98s.

Cinsault 50%, Grenache 20%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20%, Carignan 10%, quite an interesting cépage; like a hybrid of Bordeaux and the Southern Rhone.

Pulled and popped and poured into the decanter for at least an hour of airtime. Smells spicy and funky!

The funk mostly wafted off, to reveal a lovely wine with rich fruits and a pert spiciness that is wonderfully intertwined with the remaining funkiness. I can’t wait to taste the older Ch. Musar in the cellar! May have to get more of this...

8/31/2013 - RIOJADOG LIKES THIS WINE: 87 Points
Red fruit & spice on the nose
Refreshing acidity; medium fine grained tannins; strawberry, red cherry fruit & vanilla; good length with sl. terry finish

6/13/2013 - PBMEDDER LIKES THIS WINE:
Deep ruby. Nose closed, underlying sweet red fruit. Palate round with fresh acidity, fine grainy tannins, decent length, very lively, if a little volatile. Very good depth of fruit and structure.

5/11/2013 - ANDREWSTEVENSON.COM WROTE: 90 Points
Lovely integrated nose. Red & black fruits with more than a touch of cough medicine. Really good palate - very.integrated with some nice spicy notes. Great length.
