This Baron 82 has all the aspects of classic Bordeaux. Colour is still more purple than brown. An incredible nose of dark berries, leather, earth, cedar and slight vegetal notes. The palate is dominated by finest silky tannins. The taste follows the nose with a hint of chocolate and violets and it is extremely long and balanced.

The 1982 Pichon Baron (sourced from Chateau) was a spectacular bottle of this wine. Its nose was noticeably sweeter with lilacs, lavender and purple honeysuckle aromas. There was a flamboyant intensity to its seductive nose, almost Right Bank-ish in its style. Long and stylish with nice spice and style. 95 points
