Yet another fine and venerable bottle recently removed from an East Sussex country house. The previous owners state it has "always been here".

Chateau Poujeaux is always considered the foremost property in the Medoc commune (Chasse Spleen and Maucaillou however will dispute this...).

1957, not a vintage I know much about, but if you are coming up to 53 it might be the opportunity to tell me. From what I can gather it was a perfectly acceptable vintage coming after the disaster that was 1956.
All I remember is Worrell, Weekes, Walcott and Sobers doing nasty things to the likes of Fred Truman that summer; but we did win in the end...
