Description
I have for sale 1 bottle of Chateau Talbot 1983 which is in very good condition. The levels are at the very top shoulder.
The cheapest this can be purchased in the UK is £99 per bottle, my reserve is well below this.

Ripe plum, dominating notes of leather and humidor. Elegant and silky with couple of hours of breath in a glass. Fine StJulien.. still alive. But you have to like old wine with tannins almost resolved.
9/4/2017 - MAOC WROTE:
ellow cabernet fruit, cedar, older leather and tobacco, with hints of embers and early forest floor. Better than my last bottle and about as good as a recent 1983 Gruaud Larose ***1/2

Nose: Nice funky old talbot with dark berries, forrest floor, aged leather, tobacco, animal fur, cracked pepper and nice plummy warmth. Old Talbot takes me back to sitting on the cracked leather seats of my dads 1962 MGA on a warm day. Palate: Enters with a big dose of earth, olive, tobacco and finally some macerated cherry and plum notes pop. Broad in the palate and still carrying some nice ripe fruit. Finish: long and full of tobacco, cigar wrapper, and peppery salami and game meat notes.

Always been a fan of old Chateau Talbot (together with Gruaud Larose, Cordier's wines), still very much alive and kicking, obviously a mature wine but so much pleasure delivered there. Slightly smoky, very aromatic, an excellent QPR.
