Description

Cote Rotie 1997 Les Jumelles Paul Jaboulet

Considered to be the finest Cote Rotie by Jaboulet since their magnificent 1961 vintage, and certainly the best of the nineties.

Parker rates at 91-93 points and comments:
The 1997 Cote Rotie Les Jumelles is a spectacular effort. The wine offers an opaque purple color, as well as a knock-out nose of black olives, cassis, dried Provencal herbs, and pepper. There is medium to full body, superb concentration, moderate tannin, and a layered, sweet mid-palate and finish. This excellent Cote Rotie should age effortlessly for 20-25 years. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2023.

JLL is equally impressed and quotes:
1997*****
"heated, varied nose, plenty of fruit/spice, quite confit; very rich attack, lots of warm garden fruit jam. Good core richness. Will show well and openly all along. Length sound". 2011/14
