Description

The Commanderie is an ancient fraternity of the leading Grand Cru chateaux from the left bank of the Gironde (Medoc, and through later assimilation, Graves, Sauternes and Barsac).

This bottling is a blend of Grand Cru Classe wines donated to the Commanderie by member properties, including first growths. So if you've never been fortunate enough to taste a 1961 first growth...this is your chance, sort of!

London Brokers Fine & Rare are currently selling the 2000 vintage of this wine at just over £300 a case.

This little bit of history is bottle number 4581. I've been unable to find out how many bottles were produced in total.

The lead capsule is thick and complete, and the wine colour appears to be a healthy red hue under bright illumination.
