Dugat Py is a high class Domaine where impressive wine is made from seven hectares of mostly very old vines. The Dugat family have been growing wine in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation since the beginning of the 17th century. They have five hectares of vineyards, including several Premier Cru and Grand Cru sites. The Domaine has been fully organic since 2003, and they practice as little intervention as possible. The wines are stylish and balanced, and age extremely age. Top wines are aged entirely in new oak.
The Gevrey Chambertin V.V. 2008 is a classic Dugat-Py. In the nose tight and quite compact red and dark berry fruit – mainly notes of raspberries .. spiced with hints of oak and gun powder. On the palate equally tight with a good structure, pure raspberry fruit … quite muscular and weighty for a village. Will need plenty of time to unfold.The Dugat-py wines have a great ageing potential and will develop extremely well in the future
