This is a single bottle of the lovely Vieux Telegraphe CdP 1998. It was bought by me on release and has been stored in a Liebherr temperature controlled wine storage system since then. The level is well into the neck and the capsule is in great condition. The label has become a little rippled with some damp marks due to the humidity in the Liebherr unit. The wine is unaffected.
This wine is developing fabulously into a classic, mature Chateauneuf du Pape.
For a review:
Saturated dark red. Roasted red berries and plum on the somewhat reticent nose. Rich and layered in the mouth, but brooding and a bit dumb today. The considerable potential of this wine is clearest today on the finish, which features big, ripe tannins that spread over the palate and a burst of red cherry fruit. -- 90-94 pts Stephen Tanzer
The wine can be shipped to you in a polysafe tube or collected from Wiltshire or Birmingham by arrangement.
