Medlar lunch (The Medlar, London): Mid ruby. Again, lovely nose. Surprisingly open and sweet-fruited, this has lots of immediate appeal. More classical and a little brighter on the palate, acidity and a little tannin providing a nice structure for the fruit to strut along. Comes in to its own with food. ****
7/18/2015 - GRAND AMATEUR LIKES THIS WINE: 93 Points
Just after opening: Beautiful red fruits and quite some acidity. One hour and a half later: Decanted and poured. More complex. It still has quite some red fruit, acidity, length. A tad trying tannin's though. Two hours later: The fruit is superbly complex.
