Solid and powerful CC, offering loads of black fruit, gamy and vanilla character. Full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a long, balanced, dark chocolate-tinged finish. Mature and drinking perfectly Chianti Classico
Released from the estate in June 2017 and bought from a reputable wine wholesaler and stored in my cellar since.
Not only does it still have a beautiful core of primary cherry fruit, it also has bags more complexity than you’d think and a level of concentration that one would not necessarily expect from a Chianti, let alone one that is 17 years old! It is in that perfect place between primary and secondary characteristics, making it hugely enjoyable drinking now. And it is not just a food wine, this could be enjoyed on its own too.
