Classic, cassis, cigar box, licorice and minerals on the nose. Soft and rounded, the 2000 Chapelle is brimming with red fruit, tobacco, spice and plums on the palate. Soft tannins and a full and delicious mouthfeel let the finish grow and grow. Unsurprisingly considering the Grand Vin is a 100 pointer in this vintage the second wine shines that little bit brighter than in a a lesser year. Shining brightly now but with a good ten years left in it. Drink and enjoy.

Wine was properly stored from purchase upon release until consumed.
Big bouquet, jumps out of the glass. Initial fruit. Beautiful color, balanced tannins fully resolved yet still having a complete mouth feel.
After 40 minutes, floral perfume notes with a touch of spice. Beautiful, lovely wine. At its peak, drink now and for the next year or so.

A great second label coming into its own. Silky smooth tannins and light blackberry meets deep forest nose giving way to a pleasing palate and medium long finish. Quite a crowd pleaser. Opened 90 min before drinking but little changed. In a very good place now.
