Full, ripe grapes in 2004 made beautiful, fruit-forward wines with balanced tannins from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot. This second wine of Chateau Montrose was no exception.
Dark fruit and spices on the nose, refined tannins, dark berry fruits and cedar on the palate, and a long finish. A complex and powerful wine drinking well now but with the potential to age for a few years more.
To enjoy at its best, decant for an hour before drinking. A perfect claret for game and birds, pork, veal and hearty vegetarian dishes.
