Tasting note: This is very ripe though it stops just short of surmaturité. This too is quite rich and structured with solidly ripe tannins and good balance, the flavors are a bit one-dimensional and while there is plenty of punch and power, the elegance that one usually associates with a classic Musigny is presently missing. While this is impressively rich and dramatic, it's just not enough to carry the wine to the next level. This is approachable now though there is certainly no rush.
