Description

1 x bottle of the legendary Petrus 1947

Great condition with level VTS, labels superb for age with minimal dust staining and capsule in excellent good condition with minimal scuffing and no seepage.

100 Points Robert Parker
The 1947 Petrus is the most decadent "wine of the century." While not as port-like as the 1947 Cheval Blanc, it is a massive, unctuously-textured, viscous wine with amazing power, richness, and sweet fruit. The nose explodes from the glass, offering jammy fruit, smoke, and buttery caramel scents. The wine's viscosity is reminiscent of 10-W-40 motor oil. It is so sweet, thick, and rich one suspects a spoon could stand upright. The wine is loaded with dream-like quantities of fruit, as well as high alcohol, but there is no noticeable tannin. While drinkable now, given its amazing fruit extract, and high levels of glycerin and alcohol, it is capable of lasting two more decades. Tasted 11 Times With Consistent Notes.

Sold with a very low reserve considering value and condition.

This bottle was the highlight and final bottle of the extensive Yorkshire cellar from a deceased family friend listed earlier this year. Superbly stored (as can be seen by the images).

Listed at Fine and Rare for £9841 ex vat for a similar condition bottle.

Please kindly ask before bidding from abroad.
4% will be added to Paypal payments to cover their charges.
