This Serranu 2011 premium quality Sardinian red wine is a hidden gem. It is made from a blend of Cannonau (more commonly known as Grenache), Muristellu and Merlot grapes grown on granite soils 500-600 metres above sea level. This our favourite wine and now has a number of dedicated followers in the UK.
Deep Red ruby in appearance. It has a delightful bouquet of red fruits and sweet spices. It is full bodied, rounded with elegant tannins, balanced acidity and a long persistent finish. It is best paired with roast lamb in herb crusts, wild boar with apple sauce and hard cheese.
