Perfectly aged, this bottle blends its juicy red and black fruits with notes of truffle, grilled meat, warm cigar wrapper, and chocolate. It’s a concentrated, elegant bottling whose chewy tannins have mellowed to show a tinge of pleasant dustiness, but this wine’s power and structure hold true as it builds to a long, lingering finish. With more than two decades of age, this iconic Super Tuscan is exactly how its maker, Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, likes to drink it: perfectly mature and ready to drink right now. Tenuta San Guido ferments Sassicaia in temperature-controlled stainless steel with only indigenous yeasts; this wine ages in French barrique for two years followed by a few months in bottle before it's release.
