This magnificent Ribera from Pico Cuadro is available at a fraction of the price of wines produced by its famous neighbours.
Pico Cuadro Vendimia Seleccionada 2009 is red ruby with a garnet hue. The nose displays notes of ripe cherry and raspberry and complex aromas of cinnamon, pink pepper, and cigar tobacco. There is a rounded intense fruit-driven flavour on the palate. It has elegant tannins balanced by mineral acidity. It has a long persistent, spicy and smoky finish and is best paired with lamb rack, stuffed turkey with chestnuts, and hard cheeses.
Drinking exceptionally well and should continue to do so for the next 3/5 years.
