Penfolds St Henri has always been held dear to those true Penfolds aficionados and pure Shiraz lovers. Matured for 12 months in 50+ year old seasoned oak vats, St Henri has a track record for cellaring the envy of most. An elegant and pure tannin structure is what sets it apart from the rest of the Penfolds red wine range, but along with those building blocks comes velvet texture, opulence and generosity. With 2005 being a warmer vintage that has become the norm in South Australia, this St Henri was opulent from the beginning but with that trademark St Henri elegance that will see the wine live past 2015 with aplomb. 94/100 James Halliday
Deep ruby-red. Sexy aromas of blackberry, blueberry, incense, dried flowers, cola and vanilla. Lush, creamy and sweet, offering deep dark berry compote flavors, velvety texture and mounting spiciness. The sweet dark berry notes echo through a strikingly long, juicy and focused finish.
