Description

Although founder and former winemaker, Dave Powell is no longer associated with this label, Torbreck is still a force to be reckoned with; firmly entrenched in the upper echelons of Barossa Valley’s wine elite.

Taking its name from a forest in Inverness, Scotland, most of Torbreck’s production is dedicated to red wines using traditional Rhone varieties from estate grown fruit as well as those sourced from contract growers where all aspects of vineyard activities are under their control.

98 Points - Robert Parker

The 2004 Descendant, an old oak-aged blend of 92% Shiraz and 8% Viognier from a 12-year old vineyard, offers up notes of blackberries, ink, sweet truffles, and acacia flowers. There are 1,000 cases of this full-bodied, intense, rich blockbuster.
