Description

A classic Grenache-Syrah-Mourvedre blend from one of the Barossa's very top producers.

Still drinking very well at 13 years of age. Here are some recent Cellartracker notes:

8/30/2014 - SPV LIKES THIS WINE: 93 Points
Wow. This bottle was fabulous - have not checked into this in a couple years. Has really come together well - in a really good spot now. Round and smooth, still plenty of fruit but not overpowering. Glad I still have a few of these. Suspect at peak and no reason not to drink now.

4/25/2014 - ANONYMOUS WROTE: 91 Points
Terrific Steading in such a good place at the moment but with legs to run a bit further. Fragrant and spicy nose with a medium bodied palate showing leather, olives and dried herbs. All sorts of things going on here which is always the best part of this wine. A very good vintage and a well made wine showing good complexity and interest.

2/8/2014 - XAVIER AUERBACH WROTE: 91 Points
A very good vintage for The Steading, better than either 2000 or 2001. Good, classic mature GSM flavours and aromas, nice touch of cocoa, energetic and fresh, very good length.
