6/28/2015 - LIFE AT YOUR LEISURE WROTE: 95 Points
Black in color turning purple at the rim with a transparent edge. The nose is deep and complex with notes of blueberry, raspberry, licorice, violets, vanilla and smoke. The palate is full-bodied, densely structured with a velvety texture. Flavors of blackberry, plum, raspberry, cola, espresso, toasted almonds, and cedar form the core. Very polished, heightened, and harmonious with enough lip-smacking acidity to give it a good bite. Finishes long and fruity with hints of dried herbs, brown spice, pepper and a twist of orange peel at the end. Drink now until 2025.

I opened this at our 2/7/15 Australian Rhone tasting. It had a rich, ripe and wonderfuly fragrant bouquet of violet, plum, blueberry, blackberry, licorice, pepper and spice aromas. The palate was dense, rich and concentrated with flavors that followed the nose. This was our group’s WOTN with an average score of 93.3.
