VINTAGE RICH 2002 - LOW RESERVE PRICE
The term "Rich" first appeared in the Veuve Clicquot House archives in March 1876. It designated the wines that were to be shipped to the United Kingdom and distinguished them from "Dry" champagnes. In 1988, Jacques Péters, Cellar Master from 1986 to 2009, reinvented a Rich based on a Vintage wine. Elegant and remarkably well-balanced, this "wine of two faces" is lively yet velvety, smooth yet fresh.
BLENDING
The selection of the grapes is absolutely essential as this is what ensures the nobility of the wine: the blend includes grapes sourced from only 17 crus, all of which are classified either Grand and Premier crus (60% Pinot Noir, 7% Pinot Meunier and 33% Chardonnay).

TASTING NOTES
EYE
Pale golden colour with silvery reflections. Effervescence is lively and long-lasting.
NOSE
Initial flavours of menthol, liquorice and citrus. As the wine is swirled in the glass, it reveals fruitier aromas (winter cherry, mirabelle plums and grapefruit) with an undertone of white flowers. After being allowed to aerate, the wine unveils signature "Clicquot" notes of nuts (hazelnuts, almonds) and pastries (brioche, marzipan), crowned by a touch of sweet spices.
PALATE
At first both lively and firm, to gradually become soft and lush. The carefully selected dosage ensures a smooth elegance. The finish is long and structured
