Description

12 Bottles in Bond of this wonderful Shiraz From Heathcote, by Brilliant Producer

94 Points - Robert Parker

The blockbuster 2004 Shiraz Springflat’s inky/purple color is followed by a wine that pushes concentration to the limit. Made from tiny yields of 1.5 to 1.8 tons of fruit per acre, aged in 50% new and 50% 1 and 2 year old oak (half American and half French) barrels, it is a huge, rich, backward Shiraz that still assaults the palate and olfactory senses.

92 Points - James Halliday
Deep purple-red; rich and luscious; very ripe fruit with blackberry confit flavours; soft tannins, and it's easy to see why it has such appeal in the US. This is not to denigrate its appeal in Australia, either.

About the Winemaker-

David and Diana Anderson first planted vines in their family-run Heathcote estate Wild Duck Creek Estate in 1974. Today, the total area under vine totals some 15 ha that are dedicated to Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon that have helped them achieve cult status in the eyes of many. Their first commercial release was in 1991 and things have only got better with the couple now joined by their son, Liam who is going full steam ahead with biodynamic practices in the vineyard.
