Description

A venerable bottle from 1947. Very Rare.

1947; Voice of America started broadcasting to the USSR.

but more importantly:

Burnley won the FA Cup,
Pearl Diver won the Derby,
Dennis Compton scored 3.816 runs and Bill Edrich scored 3.539 - both for Middlesex.
Your humble servant GrandCru first drew breath.

From a private cellar in Lewes, East Sussex.
This bottle has a good and complete label, foil and as per photos.
The level is just perceptible on the main photo at around the bottom of the 'Reserved for Great Britain' at the base of the foil.

Shipped post 1952 as the label mentions "Purveyors to the Late King George VI". Evidence of past seepage around the cork / bottle area.
