Description

The ‘Ludes’ 1er Cru Champagne from Gaidoz-Forget is composed of 80 % Pinot Meunier, 10% Pinot Noir and 10 % Chardonnay. As this opens it begins to release aromas of baked apples, lemon zest, toast, shaved hazelnuts and chalky minerals all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is richly textured and well balanced with an intense mouse, while remaining nicely focused through the toasty, mineral driven finish. A fine showing which should continue to drink well over the next few years. (Best 2016-2019) - April, 2016 (JD)
