Decanter magazine suggested that the 1928 vintage is considered as one of the all-time great years for Champagne, a recent auction description at Sotheby’s reported that Climatic conditions throughout the growing season, including several hailstorms and a late frost followed by a warm summer, resulted in a relatively small yield of exceptional quality.
This bottle bought at an Antiques and fine art sale appears an excellent example. The ullage is difficult to assess accurately because of the foil top but is less than 9cm. The cork is intact and the bottle and label in great condition.
