An extremely rare and mature bottle of Vin Santo Rosso (red dessert wine) of Riserva classification level by Antinori from the 1957 vintage.
Vin Santo is a labour intensive style of Italian dessert wine, made by slow drying of the grapes to naturally concetrate the sugar and create a wine with higher residual sugar levels.
The bottle is excellent condition for its age, with a particularly noteworthy fill level very close to teh cork.
The beautiful labels (main label, vintage label, awards label) are all intact with age related soiling/scuffs, the capsule is intact with wear and light corrosion (see images).
Please note that the vintage is shown on the secondary label at the bottom - instead of bein printed it is perforated into the label, together with the 'Risversa' classification.
