Description

A rare bottle of very mature wien from 2eme Grand Cru Classee estate Chateau Leoville-Barton from the 1962 vintage.

Leoville Barton is one of the Bordeaux estates that were classified as 2nd growths, just below the small number of top tier 1st growths, in the original official 1855 classification of Bordeaux wines.

After the legendary 1961 vintage, 1962 is usually considered the best vintage of the 1960s in Bordeaux (which brought a lot of horrid vintages such as 1965).

The bottle is in very good condition for its age with excellent fill level (high shoulder), intact label with storage related soiling and very minor tears and intact capsule.
The bottle itself has all hallmarks of a pre 1970s glass bottle with a bottom finish and shape typical for that period.
