An extremely rare large format 5L Bordeaux Jeroboam of Pavillon Rouge, the official second wine of 1er Grand Cru Ch. Margaux from the oustanding 2009 vintage.
Large format bottles are perfect for extended aging due to slower rate of maturation in a larger sized bottle - and this one is certainly 'larger' at the equivalent of 6.6 (!) standard size bottles.
Pavillon Rouge is considered one of the best official 'second wines' released by the 1st Growths of Bordeaux and great wine in its own right, often similar or better in quality than many 2nd Growths.
Additionally, 2009 was an outstanding vintage in Bordeaux, packing a lot of power and aging potential.
The bottle in in excellent condition except for some damage to the capsule below the rim that occured during transport (see images) - all labels are in pristine condition, also all security labels and tags are still present, the fill level is excellent, the capsule is otherwise pristine (see images).
