Description

This is a rare treasure. A top wine from Piedmont (up there with Barolo and Barbaresco) but not so well known or marketed. This is the Riserva Speciale DOCG from 1964.!!! Top wine, from a top region and a top vintage. These wines are so long lived and the wines from the 40's and 50's are still drinking superbly. The wines must have 90% Nebbiolo and anyone who has had a mature Barolo, will recognise the intensity and quality. Slightly higher in iron, due to the terrain, this wine is very distinctive.

Currently lying in a wine merchants cellar, the presentation for a wine of this age is superb. Deep colour and top shoulder level and no signs of seepage and labels in amazing condition for bottles nearly 60 years old.
