Ricasoli is the most representative wine producer in the Chianti Classico area.
Indeed, in 1872 Baron Bettino Ricasoli (1809 – 1880), illustrious politician and visionary wine entrepreneur, originated the formula for Chianti wine



The vast majority of Europe suffered from heavy rains and bad weather, particularly the key wine regions of France, with very few great Bordeaux or Burgundy wines produced. On the whole, Italy and Spain fared a little better, but the real gems of 1974 were the wines of California.
