Synonymous with "Amarone", Bertani represents not only the most important winery in Valpolicella but also one of the most prestigious and well-known wine-growing realities in all of Italy.
A story that begins very far away, exactly in 1857, with the foundation of the winery by the brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani. The latter came from a long period of learning spent at the school of the great Professor Guyot, in France. Since then, tradition and innovation have always gone hand in hand, from the many investments in the vineyard and cellar to the purchase of the splendid Villa Novare, an estate that represents in the world the extraordinary work carried out still today by the Bertani family.
Bertani's Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico is a timeless wine, an expression of a unique style that the winery has always followed with absolute dedication. It is a wine that comes from vineyards of Rondinella and Corvina Veronese and from a selection of bunches that are made to wither naturally and that will then ferment in the middle of winter, with extreme slowness. The subsequent maturation in large oak barrels, a process that lasts years, leads the wine to achieve its balance, so stable that it maintains its great organoleptic qualities for many decades. A wine capable of combining time, nature, and man in magical harmony.
The grapes for the estate's signature Amarone wines are dried naturally without the use of artificial air conditioning. The grape musts are then fermented for more than 50 days in concrete vats before seeing approximately six years in Slavonian oak barrels and 12 months in bottles.
