Newly withdrawn from bond bottle of Clos Apalta Petit Clos 2016. Perfect condition.
Le Petit Clos is the house’s second wine. This year’s blend is 95% cabernet sauvignon, plus 4% merlot, and 1% carménère, all from the Apalta vineyards in the Colchagua Valley. This wine was originally destined for Clos Apalta, but after a year in new barrels, they decide which bottles will go into Clos Apalta (especially for its aging potential) and which will be set aside for Petit. The wine is later removed from the barrels and left in a combination of foudres, barrels, and tanks for another year before bottling. This new version has a delicious base of ripe red fruits, spices, and floral tones in a blend that is supported by firm tannins and delicate but tense acidity.
