Description

Every wine enthusiast will know the name Chateau Musar. Their wines are long lived and don t leave the cellar until 7 years old. This financial commitment by Chateau Musar means that from the outset the bottles command fine wine prices. As the years roll by the wine changes and matures wonderfully as the family expect it to. Realistically you should be looking at 15 years old to start to see the full integration of fruit and tannins. I personally had the privilege to meet Serge and Ralph on a few occasions and the passion was amazing and very visible.

"Upon release, this was clearly a delicate vintage, developing much more character than we would have first thought. A lighter than average style with a rich ruby colour. Very fresh and clean with a lovely tobacco nose. The palate developed into an elegant character and ended with a warm, mellow finish. This is darker and denser that some of the other wines from the 1980s with typical leaf and cedar scents. It tastes more of Cabernet Sauvignon than most. At over 40 years after the vintage, the wine is showing great balance, opening up in the glass and revealing more depth as time passes." - Chateau Musar

This bottle has great clarity of colour and presentation is good with a small nick on the capsule and the label has some bin soiling.
