Bottle has been stored privately, racked in a below ground cellar for 30+ years
Hopefully the photographs supplied show the extent of ullage, which appears very good for a wine of this age.
“Croft never seems to get much publicity since the wines, while always very good, sometimes even excellent, never quite reach the superb level of the top houses in Oporto. However, Croft seems to do surprisingly well, often rivalling the top ports, in the less glamorous vintages such as 1975 and 1966. The 1985 will be an early-developing port. It shows aromas that border on over ripeness and offers scents of plums and black cherries. Full-bodied, rich yet lush and soft, this husky wine had loads of concentration, a very sweet long finish and light tannins.” Robert Parker
