Description

Arguably the best and cetainly the most expensive Burgundy in the world with limited case production, Romanee Conti prices have gone ballistic largely due to interest from the Asian market. This bottle with the Lebegue slip label has stained label and corrosion to top of capsule. Chrisites auctioneers state that a 5 - 7 cm ullage (level) in a 30 year bottle of burgundy can be considered normal, indeed good for the age. Burgundy is less affected by ullage than its equivalent in Bordeaux. Wine is of good colour. Provenance is the wine cellar in Surrey of a deceased wine merchant originally based near Tower Bridge. My reserve is £200.
