Domaine Du Castel is arguably one of the finest and most revered producers in the Jerusalem Hills. Castel Grand Vin is a classic, elegant wine, bearing deep coloring and a concentrated and complex bouquet of blackberries, spices and fine (yet tangible) tannin. This is a balanced wine, with a velvety smoothness and a long clean finish. It is recommended to decant the wine before serving.
The 2005 vintage is now exceptionally rare as it is thought to be one of the early years in which Castel produced Kosher wines. An iconic wine from an iconic vintage.
This is a connoisseur 's wine. It will drink beautifully until 2025. It has been stored in a cool dark cellar, undisturbed and in perfect condition. With the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashana) coming up and few people travelling there may be enhanced demand for superlative Israel wines this year.
