Description

Tasting Note: Pale red, quite turbid, wild earthy nose of fennel, wild raspberries and strawberries and hints of dried herbs and white pepper. Fermented (ambient) in amphora 1000L • Indigenous yeast • Length of ferment – 14 days. Maturation in amphora for 10 months

Don Wines is owned by Josefina Venturino and Alex Craighead (Winemaker). “Don” is named after Josefina’s grandfather Don Ramon Dus and is a homage to family, honesty and simplicity. Don Ramon, a native of Concepcion del Uruguay in Argentina, is an avid wine lover with a lifelong fascination with farming. They have 11 ha of vines across four different vineyard sites.
