Description

The maiden Vin de Constance 1986 was launched in 1990 to instant acclaim, and international accolades have followed for every vintage since then. Bright and yellow gold in colour. The nose is layered with complex flavours of Seville marmalade, ginger spice and grapefruit. A rich and luxurious mouthfeel, the wine is full bodied, fresh and vibrant. The palate is balanced showcasing a perfect harmony between salinity, acidity, spice and sweetness. Concentrated with suspended density, it concludes with a pithy astringency and a lingering finish.

Loved by the critics everywhere – this vintage was awarded 96 points from James Suckling. “This is really sensational as always with dried-apricot, dried-pineapple and honey character with salted nuts and hints of white syrup. It’s very sweet, yet energetic and intense. It goes on for so long. And then again. Yet, it remains balanced. A great sweet wine through and through. Drink or hold.”

"From a stellar vintage comes a rich and opulent wine, though one that is also remarkably precise in focus. Aromas of honeycomb, sweet roasted nuts, baked apple, orange marmalade and a touch of pressed honeysuckle set the stage on the nose and mouth, but are partnered for optimal balance by a pronounced seam of acidity and lingering ginger and baking spice accents on the long, evolving finish. It's hard to resist now, but this will hold and mature well through 2037. Lauren Buzzeo" - 96/100, Wine Enthusiast

'This is one of the sweet wine releases of the year for me, a top class sweet wine with a great pedigree, a hedonistic touch of distinction for a dinner party finale. Bright, golden colour with a deep and enticing nose of white flowers, orange blossom, ripe peach, apricots and honey; notes of white almonds, ginger and nutmeg, add a nutty, spicy feel lifting the general aromatic profile. On the palate the wine has an remarkable presence and elegance, a velvety texture with excellent balance of alcohol, sugar and zesty acidity that will allow the wine age for decades if not generations. Everything is in place filled with flavours of nectarines, apricot, tangerine, soft yellow plum and honeyed almonds, a real delight that lingers on the mouth while invites to the next sip of joy.'
