Résonance is the first winery outside of Burgundy from Maison Louis Jadot. The first vintage was 2013, and a new winery and tasting room were completed in time for the 2018 vintage. Longtime Jadot winemaker Jacques Ladière came out of retirement to oversee the project after visiting the already-established Résonance vineyard in Yamhill Carlton. Guillaume Large, who was born in Burgundy and previously worked at Jadot, moved to Oregon with his wife and young son to take charge of winemaking at Résonance.
The 19.5-acre Rèsonance vineyard, the winery’s signature estate vineyard, was originally planted, own-rooted, in 1981
VINTAGE NOTES
The growing season was especially warm and dry in 2016, giving perfect condition to maturity. The grapes were ripe and flavors were well developed. We began harvesting the grapes at the beginning of September. The maceration revealed a nice concentration and intensity in the wines. 2016 is well balanced with nice aromatic complexity and a harmonious tannin structure.
"Vivid ruby color. High-pitched red and blue fruit and floral pastille scents pick up hints of toasty oak and minerals with air. Fresh and energetic on the palate, offering concentrated black raspberry and boysenberry flavors and a bracing, refreshingly bitter suggestion of cherry pit. Finishes silky and appealingly sweet, with harmonious tannins, a hint of vanilla and strong, spicy persistence. (aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 30% of them new)."

"Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2016 Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir opens with violet, crushed blueberries, boysenberry, Earl Grey tea leaves, warm earth and cinnamon stick aromas. It’s medium-bodied and intense, with oodles of ripe, nuanced fruits, expertly framed and fresh, with a long, perfumed finish. This is delicious! A restrained Pinot but still very generous with its fruit. About 1,500 cases were made. Drink 2020-2026."
