Description

A bottle from a case stored in my underground Victorian cellar.

Tiny production numbers of this wine make it virtually unobtainable through retail channels - most of it goes to top restaurants.

Vinous (Neal Martin): 94/100
The 2021 T Voetpad is Sadie s most limited release, the vines really struggling with global warming. It has an attractive nose with lime, light Nashi pear scents and touches of orange blossom. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, slightly wax in texture thanks to the Semillon, with a very persistent finish. Bides its time, this is a superb offering. Drink 2025-45.

Tim Atkin (South Africa Report 2022): 98/100
If you’re sourcing grapes from one of the southern hemisphere s greatest and most historic sites, planted in 1887, 1900 and 1928, you re almost honour-bound to produce something sublime. This assemblage of Semillon with 46% Palomino, 4% Chenin Blanc and 2% Muscat d Alexandrie more than delivers in 2021. Subtle and ethereal, with aromas of pear skin and hay bales and a palate of banana, quince, aniseed, wax and pink grapefruit. Drink 2023-30.
