Prior to the purchase of Smith Haut Lafitte by the Cathiard family, the white wines were produced from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. That is no longer the case. On average, the vines are 38 years of age. For the white wines, they have old Sauvignon Blanc vines that are 60 years of age. The vine density ranges from 7,500 vines per hectare to 10,000 vines per hectare.
