Description

The Trimbach family is one of France's greatest winemaking dynasties, having been making wine in Alsace for over three centuries.
Their top wine "Clos Sainte Hune" is considered to be France's greatest dry Riesling, but in the 1990 vintage,Antonio Galloni considers the "Cuvee Frederic Emile" to be at least equal in quality:-

"Bright straw-yellow with gold tinges;still very youthful in color.Knockout nose combines tangerine, yellow peach, dried apricot, ginger, violet and marzipan aromas.Rich, dense and refined, with a seamless delivery of superripe peach, dried apricot, crystallized ginger, white truffle and sweet spices on the palate.Extremely long and precise on the rich,fleshy,mineral-driven finish, with a sweet/sour quality that leaves your mouth watering.Mesmerizing wine and still remarkably young;this is the same class as any major Grand Cru white Burgundy you can think of,and is at least equal in quality to the great Clos Ste.Hune from the same vintage.I distinctly remember this wine being clearly outstanding from day one,and it has never disappointed me since then".
(96+ Points).

Antonio Galloni.(Vinous. September 2013).
