Description

A fine pair of German dessert wines, 2 different vintages, two different grapes, 2 different levels of sweetness.

1 x Bockenheimer Schlossberg Eiswein 1996 from Pfalz - Eiswein is pretty hard to come by these days in germany as the recent run of warmer winters has meant conditions are rarely right to make it. As a consequence it is pretty rare and some go for preposterous prices. This is even more unusual as it is a Weissburgunder meaning it is made from chardonnay rather than riesling.

1 x Deidisheimer Hofstich Huxelrebe Beerenauslese 1988. From the beautiful village of Deidisheim in Pfalz here we have a Huxelrebe (an unusual variety) at Beerenauslese level, meaning it is a complex, honeyed, deliciously sweet dessert wine with some bottle age.

Please see my other auctions for a variety or rare and interesting burgundies, Bordeaux and others. All wines will be sent in polysafe containers via APC couriers. Multiple purchases will of course be consolidated for shipping and charged accordingly. If you would like to use paypal please feel free to do so, their modest charges will be added to the invoice. Overseas buyers should note that it is the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to pay if you do not have a sterling account.
