It's not so long ago that this now all-but forgotten sweet gem went toe-to-toe with the best from Sauternes.

Made exclusively from Chenin Blanc affected by botrytis and therefore has infinite aging potential. Offered here from the top producer in one of the Loire Valley's classic sweet wine vintages.

Hard to find any comps in the marketplace, but Bonham's are auctioning a bottle of '59 together with a bottle of Hine Cognac in their 18 Feb sale with an estimate of £280-350
