Description

An incredible wine, in stunning condition. Creme de Tete only released on certain exceptional vintages. This would make a super christmas treat. Truely drinking a piece of history.

Check out this lovely description of the 1937 (comparible / lesser vintage) ... http://www.onebottle.com/archives/Caillou.1937.pdf

1947 was a ***** vintage for Saturnes. The wines are superbly ripe and rich. Michael Broadbent

Robert Parker remarks that a 1947 Caillou he tasted in 1987 was in good shape.

9/24/2009 - ASGERG WROTE:96 Points
Beautiful cognac coloured. Very generous nose, caramel and peach. The taste is surprisingly young dominated by the peach notes. Difficult to nail down on paper, cannot describe the impressions! Can be enjoyed now but will hold for many years.

12/5/2008 - RICHARD JENNINGS WROTE:98 Points
Night of Sublime Excess - Jonathan Dinh's Birthday (Fleur de Lys, San Francisco, CA): Intriguing strawberry, framboise, orange honey and lavender nose; delicious, layered, raspberry coulis, framboise and orange honey palate with great depth, a profound Sauternes; medium-plus finish
