Description

One bottle of this wine.

Aggregate critic score of 91/100.

Jancis Robinson: "When to drink: 1992 to 2022.
Half bottle. Very nervy nose with quite high VA. Very intense and golden creamy. Edgy and interesting. Just a touch of positive decay. Not actually that sweet, but beautifully balanced."

Some Cellartracker notes:

"4/6/2018 - wihong wrote: 92 Points

Dark gold in color. Marzipan and honey aroma. Nice acidity, orange peel at palate entry. Dried apricot, bergamot and sugarcane at mid-palate. Long finish with apricot, orange, pineapple, honey and hint of eucalyptus. Full bodied, intense, complex with good acidity and structure. Not too sweet or flabby. Great Sauterne.

4/4/2018 - bestdamncab Likes this wine: 93 Points

Tasted at Silver Oak this morning, opened a 375 ml bottle for the Silver Oak Staff to enjoy and learn about Sauternes, for most this was their first Sauternes experience, straw gold and orange coloration in the glass, nose of apricot, honey, pear, and spring flowers, same on the palate, light/medium body, very tasty, enjoyed by all, elegant, subtle, complex, almost mouth filling, rich fruit, lots of honey sweetness with a creamy mouthfeel, and a long finish.

11/12/2017 - andtheodor wrote: 93 Points

Apricot, oranges, bruleed sugar, cinnamon, just wonderful and I could sip this all night."

Robert Parker gave it 93 points in his Bordeaux book, revised fourth edition and described it as a "brilliant wine."
