A wonderful example of a Bordeaux dessert wine, Chateau Coutet in top-class condition with a level into the neck, the colour is a bright gold, indicating the wine to be in exceptional condition. Label fully intact. Annoyingly, however, as quite often happens with desert wines, professionals always seek at some point in the lives of these wines to authenticate the vintage by removing the bottom of the foil. This was done before I purchased the bottle.
In 1969 both Coutet and Filhot both produced light, fruity, elegant wines that are still enjoyable. As the years have rolled on, they seem to have picked-up greater depth and complexity. The 1969 Coutet is a wonderful golden colour with a beautiful floral scent and honey overtones.
