Description

Chateau d'Angles La Clape Blac 2008. This is a project developed by Eric Fabre, ex of Chateau Lafite who uses some of the traditional white rhone grapes of marsanne, and roussanne together with Grenache blanc and Bourbelenc (a new one on me!) to create a white wine that I can only describe as top notch. I was struggling to recall what it reminded me of, I just couldn't remember a really obvious name and it has just come to me - La Soula. If that doesn't mean much to you then this has got a powerful nose of white peach, ripe lemon and a touch of honey, a palate that is nicely mature with ripe fruit but a savoury edge and a big spicy finish. I think this is perfect for summer menus and especially barbeques. This sells at £20 all in but we have a parcel of 19 x 6 which we have been told to sell at £12 inc vat. The wine is currently in bond so if you would rather take it IB then it is £47.70 per six.
